Modern Warfare 2 (widely known as Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2) is a soon to be released first-person shooter video game. The games producers ‘infinity’ announced on Febuary 11th, 2009 that the game will be due for release November 10, 2009 and will be published by Activision. Modern Warfare 2 is the sequel to Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and it will continue the storyline, although it does not carry the Call Of Duty series title.

Modern Warfare 2 is set a few years after Call Of Duty 4 and sergeant “soap” (the main character from Call Of Duty 4) returns as a non-playable character and is now a captain in the special air service. MacTavish leads an elite, multinational commando unit, to counter a Russian organization. The organization is led by Vladimir Makarov, a former associate of Imran Zakhaev, who has been portraying Zakhaev’s death as an act of martyrdom to gain support for his cause. He has built a strong power base in Russia over the years and in response MacTavish and his elite unit has been given the task to stop him. Missions are held in the mountains of Russia, an Afghanistan desert and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Infinity Ward has said that they will fix the issue of enemies continually respawning at different points of a level. They have also responded to the questions about the campaign level and have said that the single player campaign level on Modern Warfare 2 will not be longer than the 6-10 hour long campaign of Call Of Duty 4.
